[So this museum had a particular artifact Felid had had his eye on for a long time. One of power, supposedly, and also, well, just great value. And then of course the challenge was a factor. One of the most guarded, valuable jeweled daggers of some king or other, in a tightly secured room in a tightly secured building.]
[What a perfect little footnote to his already impressive resume.]
[He rather thought he'd planned his heist perfectly. The guards should all have been incapacitated so there was no one to stop him from waltzing in and taking what he wanted at his leisure. That's how it should have gone.]
[So, why then, was he holding the artifact in one hand and his hand up in the other while facing a truly gorgeous specimen in uniform? Such a blunder was unlike him but he suddenly had no interest at all in ancient moldy dead guys kitchenware.]
It's not that I don't appreciate you breaking up the monotony for me, but you're very much not supposed to be here?
[For all Felid's managed to get this far, the guard seems pretty calm about all this. He has a hand resting on the handle of his baton, but otherwise his body language is totally relaxed, or at least doing a very good impression of it.
His demeanor isn't necessarily friendly, for all it's not very aggressive. Mostly just... mildly interested?]
How about you put the knife back and we go from there?
Oh~? But I was just picking up something that belonged to me.
[God this guard is hot. Look at that chest straining under the shirt and jacket. Now that is art. Felid twirls the priceless artifact in his hand casually, and it very well could drop if her weren't so very dexterous.]
I have a much better idea. I take this and you go for a drink with me.
Oh I'm being perfectly delicate with it. You should be sure to be just as careful.
Catch~
[He tosses said priceless artifact at Crowley, darting to the side but not to escape, trying to grab the baton from him him and sweep him to the floor with a legsweep.]
[Crowley has been quite sedate and slow-moving about all of this, so it's probably a surprise when he explodes into rapid movement. He catches the knife easily and darts to the side himself, aiming to maintain the distance between himself and Felid. And he's fast, fast enough that while he loses the baton anyway, he manages to jump over the leg sweep and back the hell up.]
[He had already thought the thief might jump the display, but he wasn't expecting him to break it, and the resounding crash and pieces flying catch him off guard.
His serenity melts, and in its place is left an alarmed veteran, a thing of war hovering on the edge of fight and flight. He doesn't stay there long, either, launching himself at Felid with all that speed from before, aiming to tackle him to the ground.]
[He's light on his feet, masterful at martial arts, but he wants to be caught. Which is good, he isn't sure he could dodge that tackle, it's so fast. But that's fine, he's braced for the rather forceful impact with the ground, at least.]

[He had an entirely different target to steal.]

Uh. Could you not spin the historical artifact that has been left in my care?
[If I ignore the flirting he'll stop, right? That always works, totally.
...Well, it's worth a shot.
He smiles, too, hoping that it will distract the intruder from the way he's edging closer.]
no subject
Are you nervous?
no subject
Why would I be nervous? That's only my job you're tossing around like a hacky sack.
[he really doesn't sound nervous, but he keeps drawing closer, slow and steady.]

Friendly, aren't you?
no subject
[He twirls the baton like he was twirling the knife, re-evaluating.]
You're very fast. Special forces?
no subject
You're an odd thief, throwing the thing you were trying to steal at me. Must not be that invested, huh?
[HE'LL JUST KEEP REFUSING TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND MAYBE THIS GUY WILL GET THE MESSAGE EVENTUALLY.
unzipping his jacket to carefully place the knife in an inside pocket, eyes fixed on the intruder.]
no subject
[He circles carefully, looking for an opening, or maybe just raking his eyes over Crowley to enjoy the view.]
no subject
[z. zips his jacket back up. he turns so he's always facing Felid, not willing to back down but not willing to make a move either.]
You're really forward... It's putting me in kind of an awkward position, you know?
no subject
no subject
Can you really afford to fantasize right now? For all you know, I called for backup before engaging.
no subject
no subject
Wow, that almost made you seem like the sort to believe the best in people.
no subject
no subject
You're a thief. Not run-of-the-mill, sure, but people don't steal when they have trust in the way things usually work. Or trust in people.
Are you saying you're different?
no subject
[He's now between Crowley and the exit and he stops circling, starting to approach instead.]
What about you? How much trust do you have in people?
no subject
If there's a normal amount, I'd say I have that.
[Uh, no. Backing up, taking care not to get driven into a corner. He knows the layout of the room well.]
Like and trust aren't the same, though, so you didn't even really answer.
no subject
Haha, I like you. Won't you consider that drink?
no subject
That sounds like a really underwhelming way to lose my job and also get arrested, I must say. You aren't that fun.
[he starts angling the way he's backing up, aiming to lead them in circles around the display rather than getting caught out.]
no subject
[He pauses, stops following, considering how to get around this merry-go-round problem.]
[Oh well, he smashes the display with his stolen baton and vaults lightly over it, graceful as an acrobat.]
no subject
[He had already thought the thief might jump the display, but he wasn't expecting him to break it, and the resounding crash and pieces flying catch him off guard.
