I like art well enough. The stuff in museums can be... a little incomprehensible for someone like me, though.

Oh heavens no, wars are waged for much more boring things.

[He looks out at the cafe, eyes hooded, expression distant.]

Most art, until the last couple centuries, has it's basis in religion. Beauty of the spirit, elevating the divine. Meant to inspire worship and awe. Understanding wasn't necessary. These days they mostly inspire high price tags or the yawns of school children--ah, but before you think I'm about to get evangelical, what do they inspire in you? That art you guard? Anything?

Or nothing at all?

Either answer is interesting in it's own way, don't you think?

What, so neither is boring? Exactly what is it you like about me so much? You're quick to call a lot of things boring, from what I've seen so far.

Being moved by the art around me would distract me from my job, wouldn't it?

I don't know, I've never tried to guard a museum. Would it be distracting?

Wouldn't that be fine? If you can't express it that doesn't make it less true. But can you say why?
